A Few Of Alternative Ideas About Treating Gout

August 28th, 2010

Friends often inquire of me , “What foods can you have with gout?”

When I started developing my gout diet plan, I deliberately avoided creating a set in stone menu, for four reasons:

1.  It takes up more time than I have available.

2.  I do not agree with telling strangers what to eat.

3.  I think it is pointless to set a diet for a person that you have never met

4.  There are various natural gout cures available that they may not have discovered.

I try to show how various foods might affect your gout. Most online diets for gout are loosly based on irrelevant scientific tests  by people who have never experienced the agony of a gout attack.

For some gout patients, unneccessary weight is a major factor, and for most patients, maintaining a optimum weight will cure their gout.

Many gout sufferers have a genetic cause of gout, or other problems with uric acid processing. If getting down to regular weight, and eating a gout-friendly diet, doesn’t cure their gout, then uric acid lowering medications are the key. There are both standard and natural gout cures available today. With these, the patient should be able to eat anything, though I always advise a gout friendly eating plan to avoid recurrences and other linked health issues.

I observe that most people do not adapt well to sudden changes in diet, therefore I recommend that gout patients assess their own situation and gradually change their change poor habits for better habits. I always try to give relevant advice on the sites to allow all gout sufferers to make healthier decisions.

Very soon, I will add some recipe ideas to the page that highlight key points about healthy eating for gout. These will help to answer the question “What foods can I eat with gout?”

If you are still stuck with ideas for how to improve your diet, please post a comment below about yourself, and what your current diet is. I need to know age, weight, height, and details of your daily diet. The more information the better it is. I will suggest ways you should think about changing to cure your gout. And I can’t say this more strongly – don’t forget about natural gout cures.
